Lake Kerr , Ocala & Neighboring Attractions

Area map

Only a privileged few live on the waterfront of Lake Kerr , an inviting, clear-water lake west of Salt Springs and surrounded by the towering trees of the almost 400,000-acre Ocala National Forest. Just 27 miles away is Ocala, a charming small town encompassed by the rolling hills and pastures of its famous horse farms. Perhaps because the area is “the horse capital of the world” with more than a thousand horse farms and training facilities, Ocala has more to offer than most towns its size – excellent dining, shopping and cultural offerings, including half a dozen museums. Its regional airport includes a business aircraft terminal, and most of Florida ’s major theme parks and attractions are within a comfortable hour-and-a-half drive.
